His birth was complicated by forceps injuries which led to injury to the facial nerve. He was left with an eyelid that droops and speech difficulties. Stallone was just five years old when he retreated with his family to Maryland which is where he spent his entire childhood at boarding school. Stallone initially stayed with his father following the divorce of his parents in 1957, but by the time he reached 15 , he was reunited with his newly married mother in Philadelphia. Because of his past history of being kicked out of school, he was sent to an exclusive school for troubled teens.
