Kat Dennings, born Katherine Victoria Litwack on June 13, 1986, in Bryn Mawr Pennsylvania was the first born child of Ellen and Gerald Dennings. Ellen was her mother. She worked as poet and speech therapist. Gerald, her father was a professor as well as a molecular pharmacist. Dennings is youngest of five and grew up in the family of a Jewish household. Dennings did not attend the traditional school system for a long time and instead was homeschooled. Homeschooling was the best option for her because she had a desire to become an actor from an early age. Dennings had the opportunity to complete high school when she turned 14. At the age of nine, she had already started acting in commercials. After finishing high school, she moved with her family to Los Angeles in order to pursue acting. Kat Dennings is the name she chose to audition under when auditioning. Kat Dennings acting debut after moving to LA after appearing in HBO's "Sex and the City" in the year 2000.
